LAUNCHING SOON · THE SIGNAL 50

The visit moved. Does everyone have the same plan?

Tuesday became Thursday. The reason is in another screen. Signal is built to help your team see recorded changes and supporting context before making the next call.

THE WORKING DAY BEHIND THE PROBLEM

Does this sound like your week?

A part is delayed, so dispatch moves the visit. The calendar changes. An older job note still shows Tuesday, and the owner asks why the week shifted. The customer conversation and the crew’s plan may be in different places. One changed date has become several unanswered questions.

Before sending the crew or contacting the customer again, the office needs a supported current plan. Knowing what changed also helps the owner distinguish a recorded operational reason from a question that still needs investigation.

Try the schedule-change example

Start with the right records.

Follow one visit through its versions. An accepted quote with no date belongs to the scheduling handoff; this review starts after a visit already had a plan.

  • The same job and visit references, previous date, current calendar date and timezone.
  • The dated dispatch change note: recorded reason, dependencies and responsible person.
  • Available crew and customer communication records, including delivery or acknowledgment where recorded.
What should I know before checking?

To review a schedule change, match the same job and visit, compare the previous and current date, then read the dated dispatch note. Check the recorded reason, any dependency and available crew or customer communication. A changed date does not prove anyone received or agreed to the new plan.

Make the handoff visible.

  1. Confirm these are two versions of one visit

Match the job and visit references. Separate a moved visit from a second appointment, another property or an additional stage of the job. Compare the dates using the same timezone.

  2. Read the reason beside the date change

Find the dispatch note and its time. A recorded part delay explains what the dispatcher entered; it does not establish that the part arrived or that every record is current. Keep an unavailable reason unknown.

  3. Check whether the current plan still holds

Confirm dependencies, assigned crew and the latest agreed date through the responsible dispatcher. Check later changes or cancellation before relying on an older note.

  4. Review who has been told

Check available communication records before sending another message. Sent, delivered and acknowledged describe different states. Your team confirms what is known and handles any missing communication in its original system.

FICTIONAL EXAMPLE · A HANDOFF TO CHECK

Schedule comparison
Earlier record: Tuesday · current record: Thursday
Dispatch note
Move Tuesday to Thursday · part expected Wednesday

What it establishes. The same visit moved from Tuesday to Thursday. The dispatch note supplies a recorded explanation for the move.

What to check next. Dispatch confirms the part arrived and Thursday remains the agreed plan. The example does not establish that the customer or crew received an update.

A gap needs context.

Check these legitimate explanations before deciding the handoff was missed.

  • The records refer to different visits or timezones rather than a reschedule.
  • A later change, cancellation or dependency makes the earlier plan outdated.
  • A notification record confirms sending but does not establish receipt or customer agreement.

The questions your office will ask.

How do I track contractor schedule changes?

Keep the job and visit references, old and current dates, dated change note and responsible person together in the review. Confirm later changes and dependencies before treating one snapshot as the current plan.

Does moving the appointment notify the customer?

That depends on your tool, settings and the action taken. Check its notification record instead of inferring delivery from a changed calendar. Jobber, for example, lets a user send or skip a client rescheduling notification.

Can Signal explain why every job moved?

Its review depends on available, current records. A dated note may supply a recorded explanation; without evidence, the reason stays unknown. Your team confirms the circumstances and handles any scheduling change.

More help for your team

Bring these questions to your team.

  • Which visit changed, and from what date?

THE BROADER SIGNAL PICTURE

See today’s priorities. Understand what changed.

Signal is launching soon. It is designed to compare available records across your existing tools, show what needs attention and help your team understand the changes behind the working day.

Who needs the next conversation?

A new inquiry, missed call or unanswered message can leave the next step unclear.

Signal compares available lead and contact records so your team can check whether follow-up is needed. A conversation elsewhere may change the answer.

Inspect the supporting records and use NORI’s explanations to understand what changed, what remains open and what to check next.

Signal is read-only. Your team handles the calls, scheduling, billing and payments in its usual tools. We confirm fit and record coverage before starting; missing or outdated evidence stays marked unknown.

LAUNCHING SOON · THE SIGNAL 50

Understand the change before the next call.

Signal is built to help your team review changes across available records and understand the supporting context with NORI. A change is a starting point for review, not proof of a mistake or its cause. Signal does not reschedule visits or notify customers. Your team confirms the plan and acts in its usual tools; missing or outdated evidence stays unknown.
